Where to put your keywords ? A simple Guide to On page SEO

unnamed

In our previous lesson, we collected some valuable keywords. Now, imagine you have a beautiful sign for your shop, but you hide it inside the bathroom where no one can see it. Will customers find your shop? No. You need to hang that sign right at the front door.

On-Page SEO is exactly like that. It is the art of placing your keywords in the “correct spots” so Google can easily see them.

You cannot just sprinkle keywords everywhere randomly. That is called “Keyword Stuffing,” and Google hates it. Instead, you need to place them strategically in these four main areas:

1. The Page Title (H1) This is the most important place. Your main keyword must be in the title of your article. It tells Google and humans exactly what they are about to read. For example, if your keyword is “Best Pizza,” your title should be something like “How to Make the Best Pizza at Home.”

2. The First Paragraph Google reads your article from top to bottom. Therefore, you should try to include your main keyword in the very first paragraph, preferably in the first 100 words. This confirms to the search engine that they are in the right place.

3. The URL (Web Address) Look at the link of your page. Is it messy with random numbers? It shouldn’t be. It should be clean and include your keyword. For example: yourwebsite.com/best-pizza-recipe is much better than yourwebsite.com/post-123.

4. Subheadings (H2, H3) When you write a long article, you break it down into smaller sections with subheadings. Try to include your keywords in at least one or two of these subheadings. It helps organize your content and signals importance to Google.

If you follow these four simple rules, you are already doing better SEO than 90% of beginners. In our next article, we will talk about the final piece of the puzzle: Content Quality.
